MPYO friends! Here's about a piece that we'll be playing. =)

Dvorak Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104, B. 191

The Cello Concertos of Antonin Dvořák and Sir Edward Elgar represent the summit of romantic achievement in the form. The concertante cello found a place in later Baroque repertoire, with solo cello concertos by Vivaldi, Tartini and others, leading to the classical concertos of composers in Mannheim, Vienna and Berlin and the concertos of Haydn and Boccherini. It was not until 1850 that the cello concerto received the attention of major romantic composers, with Robert Schumann's Cello Concertoof that year. Brahms paired the instrument with the violin in his Double Concerto of 1887, but it was Dvořák who in 1895 first provided a concerto in which the solo cello forms an essential part of a full symphonic texture.

Dvořák wrote his B minor Cello Concerto, his second attempt at the form, in America during the winter months of his new contract, at the request of his colleague in Prague, the cellist Hanus Wihan. After his return home, Wihan suggested various changes, including additional cadenzas written by himself, but these Dvořák adamantly rejected. The first performance of the concerto took place not in Prague but at the Queen's Hall in London on 19 March 1896, with the English-born cellist Leo Stern, who played the work on subsequent tours. Wihan first performed the concerto in public three years later, although he had in fact been the first to play through the work with the composer in the previous August. In June, after his return from America, the composer had already rewritten the ending of the work.

The first movement of the concerto opens with an orchestral exposition, the first theme played by the clarinets and restated emphatically by the rest of the orchestra before the appearance of the second theme, introduced by a solo French horn. The solo cello enters with the first theme, subject thereafter to a number of improvisatory variations, before the soloist plays the second subject. In the central development section remoter keys follow, the cello playing the principal theme in a poignantly slower version, and providing an accompaniment to further variations by the wind instruments of the orchestra. The soloist finally ushers in the last section with a repetition of the second theme, an unexpected turn of events. It is, however, the first theme that re-appears to end the movement. The slow movement opens with the principal theme played by the clarinet, accompanied by bassoons and oboes. The theme is then taken up by the solo cello. A middle section, in marked dramatic contrast, makes use of the opening phrase of a song written by Dvořák in 1887. The principal theme appears again, played by three French horns, to be followed by a cello cadenza and a brief coda. The finale of the concerto is in free rondo form, its principal theme finally appearing in its full form when the soloist enters. This theme serves as a link between a series of episodes, rich in variety and in opportunities for the soloist. The extended coda includes a reference to the opening of the first movement, played by the clarinets before the triumphant conclusion of the whole work.

If only this were all real.

So i've watched quite a number of movies, and TV shows. I've decided to put up a few scenes from the shows that i watch that make my heart tingle!! Teehee! =p

First up, my all time favorite TV series, Smallville.

Lana is so beautiful OMGGG!!!! =p Clark too lol!

This girl that Clark was kissing is Queen Maxima the Queen Of Fertility from another galaxy that is looking for a suitable mate, and her kiss can make any guy fall for her but it also kills mortal men.. Sounds good eh! =p Damn i need Maxima. lol.

Ok enough of Smallville haha, here's Lord Of The Rings. I watched this trilogy not less than 7 times each. And yes, I have a life. (If you're gonna say "get a life" haha) xD

And this is when Annakin Skywalker became Darth Vader, from Star Wars!
Ahhhh I love all this.....

But this movie made me feel so.. ahh.. This is my type of romance. Pride and Prejudice.

If only.

I Need a Super-Powered Affair.

I need more drama in my life. Everything seems to be so smooth and good. Everything is very smooth and great, in fact. Well.. That doesn't satisfy my lust for adventure. I need something, someone to capture my imagination and completely pawn me. That would be a girl, ofcourse. haha..

Lately, i've been watching two of my 5 favorite TV shows. They are Smallville, Heroes, Nip/Tuck, The O.C and wait.. there are a few more that i love watching but can't think of them now.. Anyway,

I've always awed on how many beautiful Supergirls from other planets, Queens and Princesses of powerful civilizations from other galaxies find themselves "destined" to be Kal-El's(Clark Kent/Superman) soulmate, and would do anything to be with him. They truly believe in him and most of them have waited their entire lives to find the last son of Krypton. (It's the planet Superman came from that was destroyed by civil war). But to my amazement, he's turned down almost ALL of them because of I don't know what the heck is going on in his head! I mean like.. They really REALLY love and want him, but he's just blind! So much for X-Ray vision. What i mean to say is, it's just amazing to have so many beautiful women going after you willing to sacrifice everything and devote themselves to you. lol that's every man's secret inner-dream haha.. Maybe, he has super-girl-resistance but if a a Super powered girl would come to me and grab me and suck the lips out of me, i'd be happy to fly her to my fortress of solitude lol. Anywayyy, that's just my imaginations going wild, as much as i wanna be Superman haha.. To get what i mean, watch Smallville Season 8 Episode 4: Instinct , and you will know what i mean. Use Megavideo or Tv Shack or something to watch online! That's how i do it.. These days girls just don't see the good in good guys and are getting blinder and blinder, falling for jerks and lying there. I try to help, but i feel like a fool afterwards so.. Yeah i'm no Superman so i'll be Lex Luther then..

Heroes, i follow because of the complex and twisted plot. The characters in the show have abilities that i would say many of us would like to have. For example.. Matt Parkman has the telepathic ability to read minds AND tell people what to do. Imagine going to Subway to get a sandwich and you "tell" the Sandwich Artist(that's what they're called haha) that you want a lot of meat fillings and they'd do it! Or.. tell your classmate to do your homework for you.. OR... Tell your beautiful classmate to.. eh-hem.. Do your extra-curricular projects. haha.. yeah right. Also, what would you do if you could fly? I'd go all around the world right now. Sit on top of the highest mountains and skyscrapers while carrying your lover with you. I always wanted to do that. What a ride it would be.

So, back to reality. Recently my hobby of photography became a part time job for me. Haha.. It's fun! To be paid to play with your toy (i mean camera) and to take nice shots of friends. =)

And today i attended a concert by the Russian faculty in my school, including my teacher Alexander Souptel and OMG it was awesome. I've never gone crazy in a live classical music concert before but that was just amazing. Partially coz the theme of the concert was "From Russia with Love" haha.. The concert hall was full and there was a standing ovation. Amazing!

Here's a pic i took of a friend of mine, Marcus.

Doesn't he look superpowered?  =)

If i was Superman.. This world would be different..
